BIO

Iam_Malcolm was born and raised in Rochester NY aka Upstate NY. He is 1 of 7 children. Singing has been in his family for years. Dating way back to his Uncle who sang with the Platinum award winning group the Sounds of Blackness. Growing up with a family full of singers every Holiday always turned into a mini concert! After years of singing in church choirs, gaining solo spots within the choir & singing with his siblings he realized after every performance he'd always get request for an encore. It was that moment when he realized his voice was special. Growing up on Musiq SoulChild, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Heatwave, The Sylvers, The Jackson 5, The Temptations, & all of the Popular Gospel Artist of the 90's it was then when he realized his love for music was really real! With no formal vocal training he began to enter into Open Mic shows in NYC. In 2005 he moved to Brooklyn NY to attend Long Island University Brooklyn Campus to study Accounting. In Brooklyn he continued to develop his vocal ability by joining the Gospel Choir in College. After a few solo appearances he began to work with a local DJ and created his first Single called "Blue Love". After the completion of the track he decided to shelf it for personal reasons but that didn't stop him from writing for other local artist and creating hooks for other artists singles. This was around the time when he realized that he also had a gift in writing. He began writing Poetry and soon began to collab his singing with his poetry when he performed at Open Mics. For the next 10 plus years he has been performing at Venues all across from NYC all the way to the DMV. He's done some background work for Artist & Opened for a few local artist. He's also been a feature Artist at shows and a Spotlight talent at Venues around the East Coast. At the end of the day Iam_Malcolm wants to influence people with his story and journey. He wants people to understand that with everything comes patience and timing. God has complete control over your life and if you ever want to be completely happy you must first submit to his will and not your own. All credit belongs to his parents and siblings for they have always believed in him and his voice.
